Format is four player teams, Captain’s choice, best ball. Full tournament rules will be provided at the course, or by contacting the Golf Committee. Prizes will be awarded for First and Second place Low Gross, and many individual prizes, including Longest Drive, Straightest Drive, and Closest to Pin, for both Men and Women. Hole in One prizes on all Par 3’s.

The foundation will accept Checks or PayPal for golf fees.

Annually, the 1600 Communications Association organizes a golf tournament with proceeds going toward our Scholarship Fund and to support various veteran related charities in several ways, including donations to Fisher House Foundation, Homes for our Troops as well as other much needed support.

The tournament is sponsored by the 1600 Communications Foundation. The Foundation is a charitable arm of the Association and has been incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a 501c3 non-profit organization. Contributions and sponsorships made to the Foundation for the Golf Tournament by individuals or corporate entities including merchandise donations are tax deductible on federal and state taxes. All sponsors will be provided the Foundation tax ID for tax purposes (85-4339670). The outing is held at Old Hickory Golf Course, 11921 Chanceford Drive, Woodbridge, VA ( www.golfoldhickory.com).

We are writing to ask for your consideration as a sponsor of this annual event. The tournament is always well-attended, with our numbers growing annually. As our membership has also increased annually, so have the exposure opportunities for sponsoring businesses. This is a wonderful way to show your support of our scholarship program and for our charitable activities supporting various military veteran activities. In the process you will gain positive exposure for your business among a varied audience that includes Government and contractor personnel, civilians, as well as members from active duty and retired military. Over the last 10 years the Association has awarded over $100,000.00 in scholarships to members and their families, and over $18,000.00 to military service member support organizations.
